The next NSW Skeptics dinner will be held on March 19 at the Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club, West Ryde. This is a new venue we are trying out, so we invite you all to partake of food, drink, a good speaker and to let us know what you think.
The speaker will be Chris Barnes, CHOICE’s Team Leader for Household Product Content and Testing. CHOICE is, of course, the premier consumer advocacy organisation in Australia. Chris will describe how CHOICE goes about testing products and services, how it deals with manufacturers and providers (who may be a tad disgruntled) and, very pertinent to Skeptics, he will look at a couple of products that deservedly won CHOICE’s Shonky Award – the Power Balance wristband and the Power Saver Micro Plug, an alleged energy saving device.
It promises to be presentation that will be interesting, amusing and even useful for our own dealings with pseudoscience.
You can book on the shop on this site, or call 02 8094 1894.
You have no choice – you must come to hear a fascinating talk, network, nibble and check out the venue.
