The next Skepticamp “unconference” to be held in Sydney will be on May 30 at the University of Technology.
The organisers describe an unconference as “a conference for the delegates by the delegates”.
“Everyone is encouraged to bring a topic to speak on, everyone is encouraged to bring questions, and everyone can help out on the day.”
The first Skepticamp to be held in Australia was four years ago in Sydney. Since then, they have now spread to several cities around the country.
The day is broken up into 15 minute slots – most talks are around 10 minutes long, with five minutes for questions. In the last hour of the day there will be time put aside for prizes and flash talks (rapid fire talks of 3 minutes given during the last session of the day).
Australian Skeptics Inc is a sponsor of the Sydney event.
The venue for the event is UTS rooms CB01.04.06 and CB02.04.11 from 10am to 4pm.
Attendance is totally free, and lunch will be supplied.
