Webdiary - Sydney Morning Herald

In June, 2005, Australian Skeptics participated in an online debate against the creationists at Answers in Genesis. The debate took place on the Sydney Morning Herald's Webdiary site and was conducted along the lines of a normal spoken debate, but done in writing with each team producing three papers over a week. In each round, both presentations were loaded up to the Webdiary site simultaneously and neither side saw what the other had written until publication. The three presentations from each side are listed here, together with a request for the creationists to actually produce some evidence.

One thing which was surprising about the debate was how unsurprising the arguments put up by the creationists were. Everything they said had been answered and debunked many times before, but they just keep saying things over and over as if repetition is all that is needed to make things true. They simply reject all scientific arguments and evidence and pretend that it doesn't exist. Creationism has been a matter of interest to Australian Skeptics since the organisation started, and you can see where the nonsense has been debunked over the years in the following places
