New (old) president for Aust Skeptics Inc

Richard Saunders is the new president of Australian Skeptics Inc.

At a committee meeting held on September 11, Eran Segev stood down from the position of president, having spent three years in that role, a period which included the organisation and running of TAM Oz in 2010, and a major revamp of our internal processes and external communications.

Eran will stay on the committee, adding his considerable skills to our online presence, as well as other areas of management.

The committee expressed their sincere thanks to Eran, who has added considerably to the efficiency, sophistication and image of the Skeptics both in Australia and overseas.

Richard Saunders, meanwhile, returns to the position he held 10 years ago.

Richard is one of the highest profile Skeptics in Australia, and plays a regular role in domestic and international activities, appearing in numerous conventions, blogs and podcasts around the world. In July, he was one of the hosts of a JREF Million Dollar Challenge event at TAM 10 in Las Vegas. He is also a Life Member of the Skeptics, a fellow of the Committee for Scientific Inquiry (US) and founder, producer and host of The Skeptic Zone podcast.

He has been a member of the Skeptics committee for close to 12 years, and Richard will draw on his experience and talents, not to mention his many global connections, to continue the work of making Australian Skeptics one of the leading, highest profile and most active skeptical groups in the world.
