Who, what, why, etc?
Skeptics SA is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting rational investigation of the natural world. We do this for various reasons. Many of the members seek a handy reference for dealing with much of the misinformation in the world. Many feel they should try to understand the world around them rather than just rely on faith from a third party. Some, we’re sure, enjoy the lively discussion at our meetings.
Blog
The new Skeptics SA blog is up and running at skepticssa.wordpress.com. Drop in, to read and comment.
Brochures
Over the years Skeptics SA has collected and written a number of brochures covering the skeptical position on a whole range of ideas. These have been on offer for free at our meetings and are presented here in two forms: as HTML pages for reading in a browser window, or as PDFs for download. (PDFs require the free Adobe reader.)
Forthcoming events
Skeptics SA holds a meeting for the general public and subscribers on the first Thursday of each even numbered month, i.e. February, April, June, August, October and December. Details of the next meeting are on the Forthcoming events page.
Previous speakers
Over the years we have had many speakers on a range of topics. Details of speakers and their subjects are on the Previous speakers page.
The big event of the year has been the annual national convention, 11–12 October. For details, see the Convention page.
