TV doctor joins ASI committee

Dr Brad McKay, medical expert and host of the Logie-nominated television program Embarrassing Bodies Down Under, has joined the committee of Australian Skeptics Inc.

Dr Brad is an experienced family doctor who moved from Melbourne to Sydney in 2014.

He started studying medicine at Monash University when he was just 16 years old and was working as a doctor by the age of 21. Over his career he has worked with Aboriginal communities on the Central Coast of New South Wales, has been an Emergency Registrar in Ireland and has over ten years experience as a family doctor.

“Brad will bring a lot of medical experience to the committee, complementing other members Dr Rachael Dunlop and Joanne Benhamu, not to mention his media experience,” said ASI president Eran Segev, “so we’re thrilled that he has agreed to join us.”

Embarrassing Bodies Down Under, which has appeared on LifestyleYou and Channel 9, is an Australian version of the original British TV series Embarrassing Bodies, a show dedicated to decreasing the stigma attached to embarrassing health problems and increase awareness of traditionally ‘taboo’ topics.

Dr Brad appears regularly as a medical expert on radio, TV and in print. He is active on social media and can be found on Facebook (Dr Brad McKay) & Twitter (@drbradmckay).
