Attack of the ‘Psychics’!

Richard Saunders reports on how Dark Age thinking is never far from our modern world.

According to some people out there, albeit mostly online, any one of us could be the target of a Psychic Attack! Are you worried? Should you be? Before you reach for your breastplate, bow and arrow, let’s first discover just what a Psychic Attack is. And that, as it turns out, is not as easy as it might seem.

What follows is not made up (well, yes, someone clearly has made it… those creating it), but it is all published online on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. In many cases, unless the presenter is in it for laughs or chasing views, the people espousing the following ideas appear quite sincere.

A Psychic Attack could mean that a “psychic” (someone who claims to possess paranormal powers, often vaguely defined and so far unproven) can “send you negative energies or vibes”, resulting in bad thoughts, sleeplessness and nightmares, low energy, and even illness, including the deliberate transmission of disease.

Ash from Ash’s Supernatural Sagas claims there has been a surge in these attacks recently and says she can actually see knives in people’s backs and shoulders… at least in the auric field. Ever wondered where that shoulder pain comes from? Now you know!

Alternatively, a Psychic Attack might be caused by frequencies that are not harmonious with your mind, body, or personal frequency. These can invade your mind and aura, or so says Monark Identity Architect online.

In general, such attacks are said to emanate from someone you know, a Spiritual Force, Black Magic, hexes and curses, healers (apparently not very good at healing if they make you sick), and various spiritual practitioners.

It seems these so-called “bad energies” (a term entirely devoid of meaning) can come from anywhere dreamt up by the imagination… and that’s precisely the point. They are fiction. They are fantasy. They provide a way for people to feel superior by claiming fake, special knowledge beyond that of mere mortals.

But fear not! The same people who warn us of this imminent danger also offer solutions to protect and heal us.

According to The Spiritual Life channel on TikTok, all one has to do is write the name of the person sending you negative energy on a small piece of paper (for example, “Fred Smith”), fold it tightly, place it in an ice-cube tray, fill it with water, and put it in the freezer. However, if it’s a Spiritual Force attacking you, simply raise your vibration and clear your aura. Simple, eh?

Now call me skeptical… but let’s seek another opinion. Sevyn of the Stars, also on TikTok (yes, many are from TikTok…), claims the following will “100% clear anything from your field instantaneously”. Close your eyes and feel your energy, which will extend about three to six feet from your body. Then breathe in… and out… while expanding your energy to the size of the room, then the building, then the city, the state, the country, the Earth, the galaxy, the universe, and finally to the size of the “All”.

There! Wasn’t that easy?

As Sevyn herself explains, “If you are being psychically attacked, what this does is teach you that everything is self, and everything is a fractal of your consciousness playing the role of the other.”

Much of this relies on what we call word salad, scientific-sounding and mystical terms that might as well have been pulled from a hat, tossed together to form sentences. These mixtures almost always include words such as “energies”, “frequencies”, and the ever-popular “vibrations”.

All of us experience good days and bad days; life is full of ups and downs. Our ancestors often sought mystical explanations for misfortune and suffering simply because they didn’t know any better. In 2026, we really should.

In centuries past, many societies persecuted those they believed possessed magical powers, the supposed ability to harm others through spells, hexes, and curses. That so many people were harassed, tortured, or even killed (often burnt at the stake) remains a grim chapter in human history. And yet, disturbingly, the same patterns of thinking persist today.

Thankfully, in 2026 many people have discovered the best armour against a Psychic Attack. It is, and this is no secret, the abandonment of superstition and magical thinking.
