September 24, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm UTC+10
$50
Ancient memory techniques that played an important part in stone circles, Nasca lines and Easter Island statues? No, it’s not von Daniken, but something grounded much more in anthropological reality than alien fantasy.
Dr Lynne Kelly will look into the past and the present – traditional indigenous and ancient memory techniques that allowed non-literate cultures to memorise the vast amounts of practical information they needed to survive, the subject of her latest best-seller, The Memory Code.
Lynne is a science writer well known in Skeptical circles – even stone ones. She is an honorary research associate at La Trobe University, and author of leading texts on spiders, crocodiles and The Skeptic’s Guide to the Paranormal. She is always a captivating speaker, and this talk promises to combine critical thinking and historical research into one fascinating presentation.
