Tickets for Skepticon 2024, the 40th consecutive Australian Skeptics national convention, are now available from the convention website.

We don’t know of any other Skeptical group – certainly not among English-language groups – that has achieved this continuous run of such events. That’s why we’re nicknaming it Skepticon XL.

Tickets for the convention and the gala dinner, info on speakers, the convention program, and a list of convenient accommodation (from high level to backpacker-style) are all available on the site.

This is the first in-person Skepticon in Sydney since 2018, and it is being held on November 23-24 at the Guthrie Theatre at the University of Technology, Sydney, which is the same location it was held at 20 years ago.

Needless to say, we’re not just excited about the website launch, or the fact that tickets are now on sale, or even the historical neatness of the return to UTS. We’re also truly excited about the line-up, which we believe will be an inviting and entertaining enticement to come along or watch online – not just the best of Australia’s science communicators but cutting edge and intriguing research (the love life of Funnel Web spiders, anyone?), health, classical skeptical topics, plus a healthy dose of fun and conviviality. And we’re particularly pleased to include presentations by the next generation of Skeptics – award-winning school students’ present their own work in scientific research.

We look forward to seeing you there.
